Music and your Children

Celebrate in song America’s birthday during the month of July.  Open up a jewel box of  patriotic gems singing America The Beautiful, My Country Tis of Thee, Your A Grand Old Flag, Star Spangled Banner, I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy and bring out the red, white and blue scarves or crepe paper streamers to move to the music.  Put on a neighborhood 4th of July parade marching to the beat of Stars and Stripes, Seventy Six Trombones or When Johnny Comes Marching Home.  Add  recycled rhythm by using an empty 16 oz  water bottle.  Fill the water bottle with dry rice, beans  or colorful dry pasta. Secure and seal the top then decorate the outside of the water bottle with red, white and blue stickers and tie ribbons around the top.  Shake to a happy Fourth of July beat.  Enjoy your holiday weekend.  Ms. Maureen
